Movies, Series & Entertainment Channels in English

What makes English television especially popular among global audiences is the sheer volume of entertainment it delivers. Prime-time drama series, blockbuster movie broadcasts, late-night talk shows, and reality competitions continue to dominate viewing schedules across many English-language networks.

Many of these entertainment channels are available through RisePrimeTV, allowing viewers to enjoy a continuous stream of English movies, television series, and entertainment programming. Film channels regularly feature Hollywood releases and classic cinema, while dedicated entertainment networks showcase popular TV series and studio-produced shows.

English IPTV channels — watch live American, British and Canadian TV in the USA, UK and Canada

Fifty-seven English-language channels on RisePrime TV, grouped by what a household actually sits down to watch rather than dropped into one long list. This is the one page on the site that isn't a diaspora lineup: every other language page carries the television of somewhere a family came from, and this one carries the television of the country they live in now — US cable and network entertainment, British channels, rolling news from three continents, the premium film and drama tier, live sport across the American and European calendars, and the kids and factual channels that get used daily. Each of the five tabs below covers one of those tiers. Every channel streams live to Firestick, Smart TV, Android, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and any browser.

English entertainment and lifestyle channels

English-language entertainment is not one market but three, and this tab carries all three side by side. American cable built its reputation on returning drama and comedy; British commercial television built its on reality and panel formats that run nightly; and the lifestyle tier — property, food, factual entertainment — is the one people leave on when nothing else is scheduled. Fourteen channels, covering the hours a household is actually in front of a television. Watch English TV shows online live, or pick them up on catch-up when the broadcast hour falls in the middle of a working day.

US entertainment networks

FX Live

Disney's adult drama and comedy network, and the American cable channel that made its name on original series rather than acquired repeats. Long-form drama in the evening, film in the late schedule.

US dramaOriginals
USA Network Live

The broadest of the American general cable channels — procedural drama, series in strip repeat and live event programming. Moved out of NBCUniversal to Versant in January 2026 and now runs its own sports strand under the revived USA Sports name.

US generalSeriesLive events
Bravo Live

The American unscripted network — the Real Housewives franchises, Below Deck and the rest of the reality slate. One of the few cable channels NBCUniversal kept when the rest of the stack was spun off, because its programming drives so much streaming viewing.

RealityUnscripted
AMC Live

Prestige American drama, and the channel with the deepest weekend film schedule of the entertainment tier — genre marathons and studio catalogue titles running back to back on Saturdays and Sundays.

Prestige dramaWeekend film
Comedy Central Live

Stand-up, satire and adult animation, now under Paramount, a Skydance Corporation following the August 2025 merger. The easiest channel on this tab to drop into at any hour — almost nothing on it requires having watched the previous episode.

ComedyAnimation

British entertainment channels

ITV2 Live

ITV's younger-skewing entertainment channel and the home of British commercial television's biggest reality formats, which run nightly across a series rather than weekly — a scheduling habit that has no real American equivalent.

UK entertainmentReality
E4 Live

Channel 4's entertainment channel — American imports, British comedy and youth drama, plus the late-night repeat schedule that makes it the most-watched digital channel among younger British audiences.

UK entertainmentComedy
Dave Live

UKTV's comedy channel and the home of the British panel show — a format that barely exists outside the UK and which viewers abroad usually can't find anywhere else. First-run commissions alongside a very deep repeat library.

UK comedyPanel shows
Sky Witness Live

Sky's British home for American crime, medical and legal drama, usually scheduled close behind the US broadcast. The channel that explains why a UK household often sees a US series before the Americans on this page finish the season.

Lifestyle, home and food

HGTV Live

Property, renovation and interiors, scheduled in long daytime blocks rather than single episodes. One of the highest-rated non-news cable channels in the United States, and consistently the most-watched thing on this tab during the day.

HomeProperty
Food Network Live

Cookery, competition food shows and restaurant formats. Sits alongside HGTV in the same ownership group and the same daypattern — the channels that carry a household's afternoon.

FoodCookery
TLC Live

Documentary-reality and factual entertainment — the long-running returnable formats built around families and real lives. Distinct from the documentary channels on the Kids, Factual & Faith tab, which are science and history rather than personal stories.

Factual entertainment

Music television

MTV Live

Music video blocks in the daytime and reality formats in the evening — the split the channel has run for two decades. Part of the Paramount Skydance stack alongside Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.

VH1 Live

The catalogue music channel of the pair — video blocks weighted to the back catalogue and pop-culture countdown formats. Watch English music channels online without picking a playlist first.

Why several of these channels changed name or owner in the last year

More of English-language television changed hands between August 2025 and 2026 than in the previous decade, and some of it is visible on screen. Skydance completed its merger with Paramount in August 2025, so CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and Showtime now sit under Paramount, a Skydance Corporation. MSNBC was renamed MS NOW on 15 November 2025. On 5 January 2026 Comcast completed the spin-off of Versant, which took USA Network, Syfy, E!, Oxygen, CNBC, Golf Channel and MS NOW out of NBCUniversal — Bravo stayed behind. Warner Bros. Discovery is separating its linear networks into a company called Discovery Global.

None of this changed the feeds. Same channels, same schedules, in most cases only new logos — MSNBC to MS NOW is the one actual name change a viewer will notice. Older channel lists and electronic programme guides still show the previous names, so both are given on the cards above where it matters.

US primetime block 8:00 PM Eastern

8:00 PMNew York (ET)
7:00 PMChicago & Dallas (CT)
5:00 PMLos Angeles (PT)
1:00 AMUK, next day

American primetime lands in the small hours in Britain, which is why UK households take the US channels on this page mostly on catch-up. It runs the other way too: British primetime at 9:00 PM in London is 4:00 PM in New York and 1:00 PM in California, so a US household gets ITV2, E4, Dave and Sky Witness live in the afternoon rather than having to stay up. Times shown convert US Eastern against Central, Pacific and UK standard time — daylight saving starts and ends on different dates on the two sides of the Atlantic, so for about three weeks each spring and autumn the UK conversion moves by an hour.

Frequently asked questions

Can I watch American, British and Canadian channels on one English IPTV subscription?

Yes. That is the point of this page. A single RisePrime TV subscription carries US cable and network channels, British channels from ITV, Channel 4, Sky and UKTV, and Canadian news and sport, without a separate package for each country. It works in both directions: a household in Toronto or Dallas can watch British television live, and a household in Birmingham or Manchester can watch the American channels the UK never carried.

How many English channels does RisePrime TV carry?

Fifty-seven, across five tiers: entertainment and lifestyle, news and business, movies and series, sport, and a combined kids, factual and faith tab. Every one of them is named on this page — a number you can count, rather than a five-figure channel total nobody can check. Live channels are backed by catch-up, so a programme that airs at 8:00 PM in New York can be watched at a reasonable hour in London.

Which English news channels are included?

Twelve, grouped by desk rather than thrown together: the American newsrooms (CNN, Fox News and MS NOW), the British and international rolling channels (BBC News, Sky News, Al Jazeera English, France 24 and DW), business and markets coverage from CNBC and Bloomberg Television, and Canadian rolling news from CBC News Network and CTV News Channel. Watch English news channels live around the clock — see the News & Business tab for which desk is leading at any given hour.

Can I watch Premier League, NFL and NBA games in English?

The Sports tab carries ten sport channels across the American, British and Canadian calendars — ESPN and ESPN2, FS1, NFL Network and NBA TV from the US; Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and TNT Sports 1 from the UK; TSN and Sportsnet from Canada. Between them they cover something in every month of the year. One caveat worth stating plainly: broadcast rights to specific competitions move between networks, sometimes dramatically — the NBA left TNT in the United States for the 2025-26 season and is now split across ESPN, ABC, NBC and Amazon. The season calendar on the Sports tab shows when each competition runs; the current programme guide is always the reliable source for which channel has a given match.

Are English channels available in HD?

Most of them. English-language broadcasters moved to high definition earlier and more completely than almost any other market, so the major US networks, the premium film and drama channels, the sport channels and the main British channels all produce dedicated HD feeds. It isn't universal: a handful of the smaller catalogue, faith and secondary channels are still produced in standard definition only, and where a broadcaster doesn't make an HD feed no platform can create one.

Do I need this if I already have a language package?

No — these fifty-seven channels are part of the same subscription, not an add-on. That is worth saying clearly, because it is the single most common misunderstanding about this page: a household on the Telugu, Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi or Malayalam lineup already has all of the English channels listed here. In practice most households use both, with the language channels on in one room and the sport, news or kids channels on in another.

Can I watch English IPTV channels on Firestick, Smart TV or my phone?

Yes — every channel on this page streams to Firestick, Smart TV, Android, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and any browser, so a household can have the football on the main television and the news on a tablet in another room without a second subscription.

Why does my channel guide show different names from this page?

Because English-language television has been through an unusual amount of corporate change. MSNBC became MS NOW in November 2025; USA Network, Syfy, E!, CNBC and Golf Channel moved from NBCUniversal to a new company called Versant in January 2026; CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and Showtime moved to Paramount, a Skydance Corporation in August 2025; and Warner Bros. Discovery is separating its linear channels as Discovery Global. Programme guides and third-party channel lists update at different speeds, so both old and new names circulate. The feeds themselves are unchanged.

Who owns the English-language channels in this lineup

Almost every channel across the five tabs belongs to one of six groups — and after eighteen months of mergers and spin-offs, several of them are not the group you would expect. This is the map that makes the rest of the page make sense.

Where our English-language subscribers watch from

This tab has the widest spread of any page on the site, because it is the one lineup that isn't tied to a single community. It is used by English-first households, and by families on every one of our language packages who want the television of the country they live in on the same subscription — usually in a different room, at the same time.

English news channels live

English is the only language in which you can watch rolling news for twenty-four hours without ever seeing a repeat, because there is always a newsroom awake somewhere. That is genuinely useful and genuinely confusing: at three in the morning in Chicago the American channels are running the previous evening again, while London and Doha are live. The twelve channels here are grouped by which desk they report from, and the band below shows which of them is actually leading at a given hour.

American newsrooms

CNN Live

On air since 1980 and the channel that invented the format. Rolling American and international news with the widest overseas bureau network of the US channels, which is why it holds up better than its rivals in the overnight hours.

US newsRolling news
Fox News Live

The most-watched cable news channel in the United States by a wide margin. News blocks in the daytime and a heavily scheduled opinion lineup through American primetime.

US newsOpinion
MS NOW Live

Renamed from MSNBC on 15 November 2025 and now owned by Versant rather than NBCUniversal, with a newsgathering operation separate from NBC News. Same schedule shape as before — news through the day, opinion in the evening. Guides that still read "MSNBC" are pointing at this channel.

US newsOpinionRenamed 2025

British and international desks

BBC News Live

The largest broadcast newsgathering operation in the world, and the default reference point for international coverage in English. Watch BBC News live from outside the UK, where it is often the fastest source on a story breaking anywhere other than North America.

UK newsInternational
Sky News Live

Britain's commercial rolling news channel and traditionally the quicker of the two UK newsrooms on a breaking domestic story. Heavier on live coverage and lighter on studio discussion than its American counterparts.

UK newsBreaking news
Al Jazeera English Live

Broadcasting in English from Doha with production hubs in London, Washington and Kuala Lumpur. Weights its coverage towards South Asia, the Middle East and Africa far more than the US or UK channels do, which makes it the most useful channel on this tab for a diaspora household.

InternationalSouth Asia coverage
France 24 English Live

France's international news channel in its English-language service. European politics and African coverage in depth, from a newsroom that treats Brussels as a home story rather than a foreign one.

InternationalEurope
DW English Live

Deutsche Welle's English channel, broadcasting from Berlin and Bonn. A news-and-documentary mix rather than pure rolling news — the strongest documentary strand of any channel on this tab.

Business and markets

CNBC Live

Business day coverage built around the US market open and close. Moved to Versant in January 2026 and kept its name — the initialism still stands for Consumer News and Business Channel — though the logo dropped the NBC peacock.

BusinessMarkets
Bloomberg Television Live

The genuinely twenty-four-hour business channel of the two, handing between Asian, European and American market sessions rather than going dark after the New York close. Data-heavy on screen and lighter on studio panels.

BusinessGlobal markets

Canadian newsrooms

CBC News Network Live

The public broadcaster's rolling news channel and the main national newsroom in English Canada. Federal politics, provincial coverage and the domestic stories the American channels never carry.

CanadaRolling news
CTV News Channel Live

Bell Media's commercial news channel and CBC's counterpart. Between them they are the reason a household in Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver doesn't have to take Canadian news second-hand from a US bulletin.

Which desk is leading right now times shown in UK / US Eastern

06:00–12:00 UK London leads

BBC News and Sky News run the live morning. The American channels are on overnight repeat until roughly 11:00 UK.

07:00–12:00 ET The handover

US morning programmes open as the British afternoon runs. CNBC picks up the New York market open at 09:30 ET.

12:00–23:00 ET New York and Washington

The main American news and opinion blocks, through to US primetime. The British channels have gone to overnight simulcast by now.

23:00–06:00 UK The international hours

Al Jazeera English, France 24, DW and Bloomberg carry live output while London and New York are dark, handing across Asian and European sessions.

The practical version: if it is the middle of the night where you are and you want live news rather than a repeat, go to the international channels rather than the domestic ones. It is also why a household on this lineup can follow a story breaking in India or the Gulf hours before the US channels reach it — Al Jazeera English and BBC News are usually live on it first.

English movie channels and premium drama

Ten channels covering three different things people mean when they say "film channel": the premium networks that carry new studio releases and originate their own drama, the general channels that run the studio catalogue on a schedule, and the classic and independent channels that carry the back catalogue nothing else programmes. Watch Hollywood movies online live rather than scrolling a menu for twenty minutes — which, for a lot of households, is the actual reason a film channel still earns its place.

Premium film and drama networks

HBO Live

The premium network that made original drama the prestige end of American television. Sunday-night originals, and recent studio films in the premium window between cinema and general television.

PremiumOriginal drama
Showtime Live

HBO's long-standing rival and now part of Paramount, a Skydance Corporation. Originals, documentary features and a film schedule weighted to the recent catalogue rather than the current premium window.

PremiumOriginal drama
Starz Live

The third premium network, and the most film-weighted of the three — a wider studio output deal and less original programming, which makes it the one to check when you want a film rather than a series.

PremiumStudio film
Cinemax Live

HBO's film-only sibling. No original series to work around, so the schedule is close to a continuous film channel — action and genre titles across the day, features in the evening.

PremiumFilm only

General film and series channels

TNT Live

Studio films and returning series in strip repeat. Worth knowing that TNT is no longer a US basketball channel — the NBA moved to ESPN, ABC, NBC and Amazon from the 2025-26 season, and TNT's schedule is now film and drama in the hours the games used to occupy.

FilmSeries
Paramount Network Live

Paramount's general entertainment channel, built around the studio's film library and a small slate of returning drama. Long film blocks at weekends.

FilmSeries
Turner Classic Movies Live

The classic film channel — studio-era Hollywood, presented and scheduled in curated strands rather than shuffled. Uncut and without advertising breaks, which is the whole point of it and the reason nothing else on this tab replaces it.

Classic filmUninterrupted

British film channels

Sky Cinema Premiere Live

The lead channel of Sky's film service in the UK, built around a new premiere every week and repeated across the schedule so it can be caught at almost any hour. The British equivalent of the premium window that HBO and Starz occupy in the US.

UKNew releases
Film4 Live

Channel 4's film channel and the most distinctive schedule of the ten — British and international independent cinema alongside the mainstream catalogue, from a broadcaster that also finances a large share of British film production.

UKIndependent film
Great! Movies Live

A free-to-air British catalogue film channel running mainstream titles from the 1970s onwards across the whole day. Less prestigious than the rest of this group and more watched than most of it.

UKCatalogue

A note on Indian English-language film channels

Channels such as Star Movies, Sony Pix and &flix broadcast Hollywood films in English from India, on an Indian schedule and with Indian advertising breaks. They are a different proposition from the channels above and they sit on the Hindi and Indian channel lineup rather than here, alongside the Bollywood film tier they were built to sit next to.

Live film channels

The ten channels above, running to a published schedule. Turn one on and something is already playing — no menu, no search, no deciding.

Best forEvenings when nobody wants to pick

Catch-up

Rewind a channel's recent schedule and start a film or an episode that has already aired. This is what makes a US primetime schedule usable from the UK, and a British one usable from California.

Best forTime zones that don't line up

On-demand library

Films and series held on demand rather than scheduled, searched by title. The route to take when you already know exactly what you want to watch.

Best forA specific title, right now

Live sports channels in English

Sport is the tier people actually buy a subscription for, and the one where a channel list on its own tells you almost nothing — what matters is whether something is on. These ten channels span three sporting calendars that barely overlap: the American seasons, the European football year and the Canadian schedule. Put together they cover every month, which is the real argument for taking all three markets on one subscription rather than a domestic package in whichever country you happen to live in.

United States

ESPN Live

The main American sport channel and, since the 2025-26 season, one of the NBA's national broadcast partners again alongside ABC. Live rights across basketball, college football and basketball, baseball and tennis, plus the studio programming the American sporting day is built around.

US sportNBACollege
ESPN2 Live

The overflow channel, and considerably more useful than that sounds — it carries the second live event when two run at once, which during college seasons and the tennis majors is most of the time.

US sportSecond events
FS1 Live

Fox's national sport channel. American football and baseball in season, motorsport, college coverage and a heavy daytime debate schedule. The main alternative to the ESPN pair rather than a supplement to them.

US sportNFLMLB
NFL Network Live

The league's own channel — live games in season, and year-round draft, combine and analysis programming that keeps it worth carrying in the months when no football is played.

American footballLeague channel
NBA TV Live

The league's own basketball channel, now operated by the NBA itself. Live games outside the national broadcast packages, plus classic games and analysis through the season.

BasketballLeague channel

United Kingdom

Sky Sports Main Event Live

Sky's flagship channel, simulcasting whichever event is the biggest thing on across its whole service at a given moment. The single channel to leave on if you don't want to work out which of the sport channels has the match.

UK sportFlagship
Sky Sports Premier League Live

The dedicated Premier League channel. Under the four-year rights deal that began in 2025-26, Sky shows a minimum of 215 league matches a season — including the Sunday afternoon slot and, for the first time, all ten final-day matches.

Premier LeagueFootball
TNT Sports 1 Live

Sky's UK rival, carrying 52 Premier League matches a season — the Saturday lunchtime slot and two full midweek rounds — alongside the UEFA club competitions, European and domestic rugby, MotoGP, boxing and UFC. Not to be confused with the American TNT, which is a film and drama channel and appears on the Movies & Series tab.

UK sportChampions LeagueRugby

Canada

TSN Live

Bell Media's sport network and the largest in Canada. Hockey, curling, the CFL, tennis and a schedule that treats Canadian competitions as the main event rather than filler between American ones.

CanadaHockeyCFL
Sportsnet Live

Rogers' sport network and TSN's counterpart — the primary home of national NHL coverage in Canada, plus baseball and basketball. The two together are what a Canadian household would otherwise pay a cable company for.

The NBA left TNT in the United States for the 2025-26 season after more than thirty years and is now split across ESPN, ABC, NBC and Amazon; the Premier League's UK rights run to the end of 2028-29 on their current split between Sky Sports and TNT Sports. This calendar shows when each season runs, which is stable. For which channel has a specific match on a specific night, the programme guide is the reliable source.

Kids, documentary and faith channels

The eleven channels nobody signs up for and the ones that decide whether a household keeps the subscription. Children's television is the tier that gets used most hours per week in a family home; the documentary channels are what a mixed-age room settles on when nothing else works; and the faith channels are watched daily rather than event by event. Between them they cover the hours the entertainment, news and sport tiers leave empty.

Children's channels

Cartoon Network Live

Original animation for roughly six to twelve, scheduled in continuous blocks through the after-school and weekend hours rather than as single episodes.

AnimationAges 6–12
Nickelodeon Live

Animation and live-action comedy, with the longest-running children's franchises on American television. Part of the Paramount Skydance group since August 2025.

KidsLive action
Disney Channel Live

Disney's own children's channel — series, original films and the animation library, with a schedule that skews slightly older and slightly more serialised than the other two.

KidsFamily film
CBeebies Live

The BBC's preschool channel, for under-sixes. Slower-paced than anything else on this tab and carries no advertising at all, which is the reason a lot of parents outside the UK look for it specifically. Closes down in the early evening rather than running overnight — by design.

PreschoolAd-freeUK
PBS Kids Live

American public television's children's service — curriculum-led preschool and early-primary programming, and the closest US equivalent to CBeebies in tone and pacing.

Documentary and factual

Discovery Channel Live

Engineering, survival and investigation series in returnable strands. The broadest factual schedule of the four and the one most likely to have something running at any hour of the day.

FactualEngineering
National Geographic Live

Science, exploration and natural history, and the highest production values of the documentary group. Part of Disney, which is why it sits alongside FX and ESPN on the ownership map rather than with Discovery.

ScienceNatural history
History Live

Historical documentary alongside the long-running returnable factual formats the channel is now largely built on. Evening-weighted, and the one on this tab most often left on as background.

HistoryDocumentary
Animal Planet Live

Wildlife and veterinary programming — the most reliably co-viewable channel in the module, watchable by a seven-year-old and an adult in the same room without either being bored.

WildlifeFamily viewing

Faith and inspirational

EWTN Live

The global Catholic network, broadcasting daily Mass, devotions and catechetical programming to a fixed schedule. Watched daily rather than occasionally, which is what distinguishes this pair from the rest of the module.

CatholicDaily liturgy
TBN Live

Trinity Broadcasting Network, the largest Christian broadcaster in the United States. Teaching, worship and family programming across the day.

ChristianWorship

CBeebies and PBS Kids. Slow-paced, curriculum-led, and in CBeebies' case with no advertising at all.

Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel — animation and live-action comedy through the after-school and weekend blocks.

Watched together

Animal Planet and National Geographic. Wildlife and exploration that holds a child's attention without talking down to the adult next to them.

Evening factual

Discovery Channel and History. Engineering, investigation and historical documentary, scheduled through the evening.

These eleven channels are deliberately grouped as one tab rather than split into a children's tier and a documentary tier, because in practice a household moves along this shelf rather than choosing a point on it — the same living room uses the left-hand end at four in the afternoon and the right-hand end at nine at night, often on the same day.

Stay Updated with Leading English News Channels

For many audiences, English-language news networks remain one of the most trusted sources for international reporting and analysis. International news broadcasters become even more accessible when delivered through IPTV services.

With RisePrimeTV providing access to live English news channels, viewers can follow major developments as they unfold across different regions of the world. From political debates and financial reporting to live coverage of major international events, these channels ensure audiences remain informed regardless of where they are watching from.

Entertainment Beyond Borders

Why Viewers Choose IPTV for English Channel Streaming

Traditional cable packages often limit viewers to a fixed list of channels based on geographic location and local broadcasting agreements. As television consumption continues shifting toward internet-based viewing, many audiences are now exploring alternatives that provide greater flexibility and broader channel selection.

IPTV has emerged as one of the most practical solutions because it combines live television with the accessibility of online streaming. Instead of relying on region-specific cable services, viewers can access a much wider collection of international channels across multiple devices. This is one of the reasons many global audiences choose RisePrimeTV, where English entertainment, news, and documentary channels can be streamed through a single IPTV subscription designed for modern viewing habits.
