Malayalam IPTV Channels

Watch Malayalam IPTV Channels from Kerala Anywhere in the World

For many Malayali viewers living overseas, staying connected to Kerala often begins with television. With RisePrimeTV, audiences living abroad can stream Malayalam TV channels online without the geographic restrictions that usually block regional broadcasts outside India.
This means viewers in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Gulf nations can continue watching the same Kerala-based programming that families follow back home, maintaining a direct connection with their state’s television networks.

Made For Desi Households

A Malayalam IPTV Experience Designed for Families Abroad

Living outside Kerala often raises an important question for many families: how can younger generations stay connected to the language and traditions they grew up with?

Family-oriented Malayalam channels often feature cultural programs, community discussions, and entertainment designed for viewers of different age groups. Through RisePrimeTV, many expatriate households continue enjoying these broadcasts together, creating shared viewing moments that reinforce language, cultural identity, and the familiar rhythms of Malayalam television within families living abroad.

Malayalam IPTV channels — watch live Malayalam TV from Kerala in the USA, UK and Canada

Forty-two Malayalam channels on RisePrime TV, grouped the way Kerala's television actually works rather than dropped into one long alphabetical list. Malayalam is a news-heavy language before it is anything else — nearly every major newspaper house in Kerala runs its own newsroom on air, which is why the news tab is the largest here. Five general entertainment channels compete for the same prime-time hour; the devotional tier is denominational rather than temple-owned, which makes it unlike any other South Indian language; the anchor sport is football, not cricket; and Kerala sustains a documentary and education tier that no other Indian language supports at this scale. Each of the five tabs below covers one of those tiers. Every channel streams live to Firestick, Smart TV, Android, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and any browser.

Malayalam entertainment channels

Five commercial general entertainment channels carry Malayalam prime time, and they schedule against each other rather than around each other — which is why a Malayalam package is judged on whether it carries all five rather than the biggest two. Daily serials run six evenings a week from around 6:30 PM in Kochi; the large non-fiction formats — reality, comedy and celebrity game shows — take the weekend. Watch Malayalam serials online live from Kerala, or on catch-up when the broadcast hour falls in the middle of a working morning in New Jersey or Toronto.

Asianet Live

The first private Malayalam satellite channel, on air since 1993 and now part of JioStar. It has led the Malayalam general entertainment ratings more or less continuously — serials in the early evening, and the two formats the rest of the market schedules around: Bigg Boss Malayalam and Star Singer.

Mazhavil Manorama Live

The Malayala Manorama group's entertainment channel, launched in 2011 and one of the earliest Malayalam channels to run a dedicated HD feed. Family drama plus the long-running studio formats — comedy, celebrity quiz and travel game shows — that made it the default second channel in most households.

GECHD feedNon-fiction
Zee Keralam Live

The newest of the five, launched in 2018, and the one that moved fastest — it has traded the second ratings position back and forth with Mazhavil Manorama for several years. Family serials drawn from Zee's cross-language drama catalogue, adapted rather than dubbed.

Sun Surya Live

Known as Surya TV until March 2026. Sun TV Network's Malayalam channel, broadcasting since 1998 and the anchor of a four-channel Malayalam stack that also covers films, music and comedy. Serials, film-based programming and the Malayalam editions of the network's game and cookery formats.

Flowers TV Live

Launched in 2015 and built on comedy rather than drama — the sitcom and stand-up formats that became household names, plus a heavy schedule of awards nights and festival specials. The channel most likely to be on in a Malayali living room that is not watching a serial.

Amrita TV Live

Owned by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math but programmed as a full general entertainment channel rather than a devotional one, which is why it sits here and not in the Devotional tab. Serials and non-fiction alongside a distinctly larger share of festival, classical and cultural programming than the commercial four.

Kairali TV Live

On air since 1998, run by Malayalam Communications and unusual in Indian television for its ownership structure — a public limited company with a very large base of small shareholders rather than a single media house. Serials, discussion programming and a strong stage and cultural-event schedule.

Doordarshan's Malayalam service, and the only channel here that predates the private market. Classical performance, agriculture and rural affairs, state coverage and archive programming that the commercial channels stopped scheduling decades ago.

Why five general entertainment channels matters more in Malayalam than elsewhere

In most Indian languages, two channels take the overwhelming majority of general entertainment viewing and the rest are filler. Malayalam does not work that way — the ratings gap between the first and fifth channel is narrow enough that the lead position has changed hands repeatedly, and each channel holds a genuinely different audience rather than a smaller copy of the same one. A household that follows two serials will very often be following them on two different channels.

The practical consequence for a subscription: a Malayalam package that carries only Asianet and one other channel will leave gaps that a viewer notices within a week. All nine channels above are carried here for that reason.

Weeknight serial block 7:30 PM in Kochi

7:30 PMKochi (IST)
2:00 PMUK, same day
9:00 AMUS Eastern & Toronto
6:00 AMUS Pacific, same day

The India feed is carried live, so the hour the serials actually air lands in the early afternoon in London, at the start of the working day in New Jersey and Toronto, and before dawn on the West Coast. UK households get most of this block live; North American households pick it up on catch-up in the evening. Times shown convert Indian Standard Time against UK and US standard time — during daylight saving each UK and North American conversion moves an hour later.

Frequently asked questions

Can I watch Asianet, Mazhavil Manorama, Zee Keralam and Sun Surya live outside India?

Yes. All five Malayalam general entertainment channels stream live through RisePrime TV to the USA, UK and Canada, on Firestick, Smart TV, Android, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and in any browser. These are the channels most Malayali households check for first, which is why they sit in the opening tab of this page rather than partway down a list.

How many Malayalam channels does RisePrime TV carry?

Forty-two, across five tiers: entertainment, news and current affairs, movies and music, devotional programming, and a combined sport, kids and knowledge tab. Live channels are backed by catch-up, so a serial that airs at 7:30 PM in Kochi can be watched at a reasonable hour in Houston or Toronto.

Which Malayalam news channels are included?

Eleven, which is the largest tier on this page and a fair reflection of the market — Kerala supports an unusually dense Malayalam news industry for a state of its size, because most of the big newspaper houses run their own newsroom on air. The eleven here are the channels with genuine statewide reach and the largest audiences, covering the full range of editorial positions rather than one side of it.

Are Malayalam channels available in HD?

Several are. Asianet, Mazhavil Manorama, Sun Surya and Zee Keralam all operate dedicated HD feeds at the broadcaster, and the major news channels have moved to HD production over the last decade. It is not universal, though: a number of the smaller devotional, education and regional channels are still produced in standard definition only, and where a broadcaster does not make an HD feed, no platform can create one.

Is there football with Malayalam commentary?

Yes, and it is the clearest difference between a Malayalam package and most other Indian-language ones. Football, not cricket, is the anchor sport in Kerala, and Indian Super League coverage has been carried with a full Malayalam commentary team rather than a dubbed audio track. The Sports, Kids & Knowledge tab sets out what that coverage looks like — and note that broadcast rights to specific competitions move between networks from season to season, so the current programme guide is always the reliable source.

Can I watch Malayalam channels on Firestick, Smart TV or my phone?

Yes — every channel on this page streams to Firestick, Smart TV, Android, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and any browser, so a household can watch a serial in the living room and the news in another room without a second subscription.

Which Malayalam devotional channels do you carry?

Six, and the tier looks different from the devotional tiers on our other South Indian pages. Kerala's devotional broadcasting is denominational rather than temple-owned — the channels are run by churches, missions and communications trusts rather than by a single shrine, and Christian broadcasting in Malayalam is older and larger than in any other Indian language. The Devotional tab sets out which tradition each channel serves.

Do you carry Safari TV and the Kerala education channels?

Yes. Safari TV — the Malayalam travel, history and documentary channel — sits in the Sports, Kids & Knowledge tab alongside the Victers education service run by the Kerala state education department. This tier is genuinely unusual: no other Indian language sustains a commercial documentary channel and a full state education broadcaster at the same time, and both are heavily watched in diaspora households with school-age children.

Who actually owns Malayalam television

Malayalam television is owned differently from the other South Indian languages: newspapers, not studios, built most of it, and no single group dominates the way one or two do in Telugu or Tamil. Knowing who owns what explains why the same names recur across the tabs above.

Where Malayalam viewers stream from

Kerala has the longest continuous emigration history of any Indian state, and the western diaspora is built on two waves — nursing and healthcare recruitment into the UK, Ireland and North America, and a later technology and student wave. That gives Malayalam an unusually wide geographic spread rather than a few dense metros. RisePrime TV's Malayalam package is built for it.

Malayalam news channels live

This is the largest tier on the page, and that is not padding — Kerala runs more round-the-clock Malayalam news channels than any comparably sized language market in India. The lead position genuinely moves: the top slot in the weekly ratings has changed hands several times in recent years between the oldest newsroom and much newer entrants, which does not happen in most Indian-language news markets. For a household abroad, the practical effect is that no single channel is sufficient — watch Malayalam news live and you will want two or three open across a big story.

Asianet News Live

The oldest Malayalam news operation and for most of its history the largest. Rolling bulletins, a heavyweight evening debate slot and the widest district reporting network in the language — still the channel a Malayali household turns on first when a story breaks.

Why Kerala has this many news channels Print mastheads that went on air

  • MadhyamamDaily newspaper, founded 1987 Media OneOn air 2013
  • Kerala KaumudiDaily newspaper, founded 1911 Kaumudy TVThe exception — entertainment-led, in tab 1

Kerala's newspaper market is unusually large and unusually old for a state of 35 million people, and when those mastheads moved into television from the mid-2000s onward they arrived with reporting networks already in place. That is one origin story. The other is broadcast-first: Asianet News, 24 News, Reporter, News18 Kerala, Janam and Jaihind were built as television newsrooms without a newspaper behind them. Eleven channels competing in the same evening hour is the result of those two groups meeting in the middle — and it is why the Malayalam news tier on this page is larger than the entertainment tier.

Malayalam movie and music channels

Malayalam cinema produces a large annual slate for the size of its home market, and its films travel further than any other Indian regional cinema outside its own language — which is exactly why a diaspora household wants the film channels rather than only the general entertainment ones. Watch Malayalam movies online through the dedicated film channels, or catch a world television premiere the weekend it airs. The music tier is smaller but distinctive: Kerala's youth music channel built its reputation on live studio sessions rather than film-song countdowns.

Why the Surya channels now read "Sun Surya"

On 19 March 2026, coinciding with Ugadi and Gudi Padwa, Sun TV Network added the Sun prefix to every channel carrying the Surya brand and redrew the logos, writing the name in Malayalam script instead of English. Surya TV became Sun Surya, and the film, comedy and music channels followed. The same change was made to the network's Telugu and Kannada channels on the same day. Nothing about the channels themselves changed — same feeds, same schedules. The one exception is the kids channel: Kochu TV kept its name and took only the new logo.

Older channel lists and programme guides still show the pre-2026 names, so both are given on the cards above.

Aug – Sep
Onam

The single biggest week in Malayalam television. Every channel schedules world television premieres, film-star specials and comedy events against each other, and the ratings for the whole year are read against this window.

April
Vishu

The second premiere season, and the release window for the spring slate. Lighter than Onam but the same pattern — new-title premieres on the film channels and festival programming across the general entertainment tier.

Dec – Jan
Christmas & New Year

Unusually significant in Malayalam compared with other Indian languages, and it runs across the devotional channels as well as the film ones — carols, midnight services and a full premiere slate in the same fortnight.

Varies
Ramadan & Eid

Moves through the calendar each year. Ramadan brings a distinct late-night and pre-dawn schedule, and Eid brings its own premiere and special-programming window across the film and general entertainment channels.

Malayalam film premieres cluster into these four windows rather than spreading across the year, which is the practical argument for a live subscription over waiting for a streaming release: the premiere airs in Kerala on a fixed evening, and a live feed is the only way to watch it that evening rather than weeks later. This band deliberately names no film and no premiere date — those change every season, and the programme guide is the reliable source.

Malayalam devotional channels

The Malayalam devotional tier does not look like the devotional tier in any other Indian language. Elsewhere in South India the defining devotional channel is owned by a temple trust and broadcasts that temple's daily rituals. In Malayalam the tier is denominational: the channels are run by churches, missions and communications trusts, and Christian broadcasting in Malayalam is both older and larger than in any other Indian language — several of these channels have been on air for two decades and broadcast internationally. For a diaspora household this is often the most-watched tier in the package after news, because it is the one that cannot be replaced by a local equivalent.

Shalom TV Live

The best-known Malayalam Christian channel, based in Kozhikode district and broadcasting to a worldwide audience. It began as a programming block on Asianet in 1998 and became an independent channel in March 2005. Liturgy and devotions alongside family programming, interviews, music and quiz formats.

The oldest strand in the tier

Kerala's Saint Thomas Christian communities have supported Malayalam-language religious broadcasting since the 1990s, well before most Indian languages had any devotional channel at all. These channels carry liturgy and daily devotions alongside a full general schedule, and several run international feeds for exactly the audience this page serves.

Holy MassDaily prayerFeast daysFamily programming

Convention and teaching-led

A second and distinct strand, built around retreat centres, conventions and preaching ministries rather than parish life. The scheduling is different too — long-form convention broadcasts and Bible teaching blocks rather than fixed liturgical hours, which makes these channels easier to drop into at any time of day from a different time zone.

ConventionsBible teachingWorship musicTestimony
Hindu devotional and classical
Temple festivals rather than one shrine

Kerala's Hindu devotional broadcasting is organised around the state's festival calendar and its temple arts rather than around a single shrine's daily ritual, which is the pattern in Telugu and Kannada. Expect bhajan and devotional music blocks, coverage of major temple festivals across several districts, and classical performance forms that rarely appear on the commercial channels.

BhajansTemple festivalsDiscoursesClassical arts

No ritual times, service times or festival dates are stated anywhere in this tab, deliberately. Kerala's religious calendars move against the Gregorian year in different ways — the Christian liturgical year, the Malayalam era calendar and the Islamic calendar all shift independently — and a schedule printed on a web page is out of date within a season. The live programme guide on the channel is the reliable source in every case.

Malayalam sports, kids and knowledge channels

Three tiers that a household buys for different reasons, kept together because none is large enough to hold a tab alone. Sport in Malayalam is football first — Kerala is the one major Indian television market where that is true — and Malayalam-language coverage has been carried on a general entertainment channel rather than a dedicated sports channel, which is why the sport story here is about which channel turns into a football channel in season. The knowledge tier is the genuine outlier: Kerala sustains a commercial documentary channel and a full state education broadcaster at the same time, which no other Indian language does.

Asianet Plus Live

Asianet's second channel — films and entertainment through most of the year, and Kerala's football channel in season. It has carried Indian Super League coverage with a full Malayalam commentary team, including pre-match and post-match analysis, rather than a dubbed audio feed — though ISL rights have moved between broadcasters more than once, so which channel carries a given season is a question for the current programme guide rather than this page.

What Malayalam sport coverage actually looks like Football first

Indian Super LeagueKerala Blasters FC

The anchor. Kerala Blasters carry one of the largest supporter bases in Indian football, and ISL matches have been broadcast with a dedicated Malayalam commentary team and Malayalam-language pre- and post-match shows — not a dubbed English feed. This is the single clearest reason a Malayalam package is not interchangeable with a Hindi one.

Kerala Cricket LeagueState T20

Kerala's own T20 competition, run by the state cricket association and broadcast in Malayalam. A genuinely local sporting event with local players, which travels badly through national English-language coverage and well through a Malayalam feed.

International footballWorld Cup and European club football

Kerala's football following extends well beyond the domestic league — major international tournaments draw the kind of audience elsewhere reserved for cricket, and Malayalam channels schedule preview, analysis and highlights programming around them even where the live rights sit with a national broadcaster.

International cricketIndia fixtures

Present but secondary in Malayalam, and the reverse of the pattern on our Telugu and Tamil pages. Where a Malayalam commentary feed is not offered for a series, the English and Hindi sport channels elsewhere in the RisePrime TV lineup carry the same fixtures — see our sports channel lineup.

Sport is the one tier where the picture changes every season. Broadcast rights to the Indian Super League and to international cricket have moved between networks more than once in recent years, and the Malayalam-language feed has moved with them. This panel therefore describes what Malayalam sport coverage consists of rather than naming a current rights holder for each competition — the live programme guide is the only reliable source for a given season.

Youngest viewers

Kochu TV · Sony YayThe reason a lot of Malayali parents abroad buy a package at all. Two full channels of animation dubbed into Malayalam gives a child growing up in Houston or Croydon a daily reason to hear the language spoken at speed, which is something no English-language service can supply.

School-age
