Punjabi IPTV for Music, Movies & Daily Entertainment
Channel availability matters most when it reflects real viewing habits.
Punjabi television is built around music, films, serials, news and Gurbani – often all in the same household. RisePrimeTV brings these viewing categories together in one Punjabi IPTV service, with a featured selection of popular Punjabi channels organised below by what Punjabi viewers actually watch.
Punjabi IPTV Entertainment Built Around Music, Movies, Comedy & More
Punjabi entertainment has always been powered by music, cinema, and lively television programs that celebrate the region’s vibrant personality. Unlike many other television industries, Punjabi channels place a strong focus on music-driven shows, artist interviews, comedy segments, and movie broadcasts that capture the cultural spirit audiences love.
This is where RisePrimeTV brings together a wide range of Punjabi entertainment channels, allowing viewers to enjoy the content that defines modern Punjabi media. Popular programming often includes music countdown shows featuring the latest Punjabi hits, talk shows with well-known artists, comedy programs, and Punjabi movie screenings that bring blockbuster films directly to television screens.
Punjabi IPTV channels — watch live TV from Punjab in the UK, Canada and USA
Punjabi television brings together new music, Punjabi films, serials, news and Gurbani, often all in the same household's viewing. Browse popular Punjabi channels across entertainment, news, music, movies, Gurbani and diaspora programming. The lineup includes familiar names such as PTC Punjabi and Zee Punjabi, along with Punjabi channels serving viewers across the UK, Canada and USA.
Punjabi entertainment channels
Punjabi entertainment revolves around serials, reality formats, award shows and family viewing. PTC Punjabi has long led it; Zee Punjabi returned in 2020 and GTC Punjabi arrived in 2025.
Punjab's best-known flagship channel — serials, reality formats and the PTC awards. Also gives a large share of its schedule to Gurbani from Amritsar.
Relaunched in January 2020 after a seven-year absence. Family dramas, many adapted from Zee's Marathi serial catalogue, in a phulkari-inspired look of its own.
Doordarshan's Punjabi service. Folk performance, rural affairs and agricultural programming that the commercial channels have largely stopped making.
The newest entrant — an Amritsar general entertainment channel launched in 2025 by GTC Network, and on DD Free Dish since February 2026. The first new Punjabi GEC in years.
Prime-time serial block 7:00 PM in Punjab
The India broadcast is carried live, so Punjab's prime-time hour lands mid-morning in Toronto and New York and before dawn on the West Coast. For UK viewers, this falls in the early afternoon and can be watched live; North American viewers can use catch-up when the timing is less convenient. Times shown are Indian Standard Time against US and UK standard time; during daylight saving each North American and UK conversion moves an hour later.
Frequently asked questions
Can I watch PTC Punjabi live outside India?
Yes — PTC Punjabi streams live through RisePrime TV to the UK, Canada and USA, on Firestick, Smart TV, Android, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and in any browser, on up to four devices at once. PTC Punjabi is a leading Punjabi entertainment channel in Punjab and among diaspora audiences, making it one of the first channels many viewers look for.
How many Punjabi channels does RisePrime TV carry?
This page highlights 34 Punjabi channels across entertainment, news, music, movies, devotional programming and diaspora broadcasting.
Are the Punjabi channels available in HD?
Most Punjabi channels are broadcast in standard definition, and an SD feed stays SD whatever platform carries it. HD is available only where the broadcaster transmits it, for example some of the diaspora channels in the Diaspora tab. The Hindi channels and English channels elsewhere in the lineup include HD feeds where available.
Can I watch Punjabi channels on Firestick, Smart TV or my phone?
Yes — every channel on this page streams to Firestick, Smart TV, Android, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and any browser, on up to four devices at once, so a household can watch different channels in different rooms without paying for a second subscription.
Is there a Punjabi sport channel for kabaddi and cricket?
There is no dedicated Punjabi sport channel — unlike Tamil or Telugu, the category doesn't exist in Punjabi. Kabaddi is the exception: the circle-style Kabaddi World Cup has historically been carried by PTC Punjabi and PTC News as event programming rather than by a sport feed, and it appears in the schedule only while a tournament runs. For cricket, you can watch the Hindi and English sports channels in the full channel lineup. Rights change season to season, so check the current programme guide rather than assuming a fixture is carried.
Are Punjabi channels live or catch-up only?
Every channel in this lineup streams live. Catch-up is also available across the package for anything you've missed, which matters most for prime-time serials, evening debate shows and the early-morning Gurbani broadcast.
How Punjabi television is organised
Punjabi programming comes from dedicated Punjabi networks, national broadcasters and diaspora-focused channels across the UK, Canada and USA.
PTC Network

Punjabi viewers are spread across major communities in the UK, Canada and USA, from Southall and Birmingham to Brampton, Surrey and California.
Punjabi news and current affairs channels
Punjabi news is a crowded field for a single state, and it splits two ways. Some channels cover Punjab alone; others are tri-state services built for the Punjab–Haryana–Himachal belt, where the bulletin switches between Punjabi and Hindi depending on the story. For diaspora viewers the draw is the same either way: farm policy, panchayat politics and immigration coverage that national Indian news treats as a footnote.
Punjab-first
The market leader and the oldest of the modern Punjabi news channels, on air since 2007. Rolling coverage of state politics, agriculture and Punjab affairs.
Infotainment rather than straight news — bulletins and immigration talk shows alongside daily live Gurbani from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib and other sites.
Independent Punjab news channel. District-level reporting and crime coverage, with a lighter studio-debate schedule than the network channels.
Punjab, Haryana & Himachal
Zee's tri-state news service, which took the Zee Punjabi slot in 2013. Punjabi and Hindi bulletins across the three states, with Chandigarh as the base.
Network18's regional service for the belt, run out of Mohali, with the national newsroom's resources behind state coverage and election reporting.
ITV Network's regional channel covering Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, with Haryana carried on a separate feed in the same family.
GTC Network's Punjabi news channel, run from Amritsar rather than Mohali or Chandigarh where most of the others are based. The first new Punjabi newsroom to launch in several years.
Punjab-First Newsrooms
Punjab onlyBuilt around Punjab's own politics, agriculture, panchayat and gurdwara affairs. These are the channels to watch to follow a single district or constituency — the coverage goes deep on one state rather than wide across three.
Tri-State Belt Feeds
Punjab · Haryana · HimachalThe national networks run one Punjabi service across the northern belt rather than a Punjab-only newsroom, so Punjab shares the bulletin with Haryana and Himachal — wider regional context, less time on any single Punjab story.
A Punjab-first channel can take you deeper into a Jalandhar or Bathinda story, while a belt feed adds the wider Delhi and Chandigarh context.
Punjabi music and movie channels
Punjabi music and movies are major parts of everyday viewing, spanning current releases, folk and live performances, and a broad mix of Punjabi cinema.
Chart & film songs
The older and more widely watched of PTC's two music channels, running since 2010 on a diet of current Punjabi film songs and chart video.
9X Media's Punjabi channel, on air since 2011 and a category leader almost from launch. Current releases with the network's signature animated idents.
The oldest Punjabi music channel of them all, launched in 2003 and now the anchor of a small network. Popular songs plus talk and countdown formats.
Folk, live & catalogue
PTC's second music channel, launched in 2019 deliberately against the chart format — traditional folk, tumbi and dhadi performance, and recorded live concerts.
Independent free-to-air music channel running since 2016, mixing bhangra and current Punjabi pop with a deeper back catalogue than the chart channels.
The newest channel in the tier, on air since 2021. Continuous music video with minimal presentation — the one people leave on in the background.
Movies
The first channel built solely around Punjabi cinema, and still the deepest film schedule in the language. Comedy, romance and action in rotation around the clock.
PTC's movie channel, launched in 2019. Punjabi films with music programming filling the gaps between titles, and the older catalogue better represented than elsewhere.
Free-to-air Punjabi film channel from the Manoranjan group, which runs the same format in Hindi and Bengali. Broad mainstream selection, uncut runtimes.
Free-to-air channel with a hybrid schedule — Punjabi films in long blocks with music filling the gaps.

Gurbani and devotional programming
Gurbani and Sikh devotional programming remains an important part of Punjabi viewing abroad, with dedicated channels from Punjab and the UK carrying kirtan, katha and Sikh-focused programming throughout the day. Sikh devotional television is a genuine category with its own broadcasters — several based in Birmingham rather than Amritsar — and daily kirtan from Sri Harmandir Sahib is carried across the schedule rather than confined to one channel. The practical question for a household in Surrey or Southall isn't which channel, it's which broadcast window falls at a reasonable hour.
From Punjab
PTC's dedicated Sikh devotional channel, launched in 2019 — kirtan, katha and Sikh history programming on a full-time devotional schedule.
Free-to-air Gurbani channel broadcasting from Punjab, running kirtan and path through the day with minimal studio programming between segments.
From the UK
The first free-to-air Sikh faith channel in the world, on air from the UK since 2009 and watched across Europe and Canada. Religious and cultural programming around the clock.
Birmingham-based Sikh channel running since 2013, with a sub-centre in Amritsar. Known for its weekly current-affairs hour alongside devotional programming.
Owned by a UK registered charity and backed by gurdwaras, running as an open platform for the sangat. Teaching on the Sikh Gurus and Guru Granth Sahib.
Amrit Vela · pre-dawn
- United Kingdom10:30 PM prev. day
- Toronto, New York5:30 PM prev. day
- Surrey, California2:30 PM prev. day
The window most households want, and the hardest to catch abroad — it opens in Punjab while North America is still in the previous afternoon. Usually watched on catch-up.
Rehras · evening
- United Kingdom12:00 PM same day
- Toronto, New York7:00 AM same day
- Surrey, California4:00 AM same day
The practical one for the diaspora: breakfast on the US East Coast, midday in Britain, both live. A third window falls around midday in Punjab, which is the small hours across North America.
Times are given against UK and North American standard time; during daylight saving each North American and UK conversion moves an hour later. Before committing, an IPTV free trial lets you check the Gurbani schedule and see how a morning Amrit Vela broadcast works for your household.
Why Gurbani Now Appears on More Than One Channel
For eleven years the live telecast from Sri Harmandir Sahib ran under a single exclusive agreement, signed by the SGPC with G Next Media — the company behind the PTC channels — in July 2012. The arrangement was contested for years in the Punjab Assembly and at the Akal Takht. The agreement expired in 2023, the same year the Assembly passed a bill aimed at ending exclusivity.
For a viewer abroad, live kirtan from Amritsar is no longer tied to a single channel, and the devotional channels on this page carry it alongside their own katha, discourse and kirtan programming.
Punjabi channels made outside Punjab
Punjabi is one of the few Indian languages with a real television industry outside India. These channels are produced in Birmingham, London, Surrey, Vancouver, Toronto and New York. They add the local perspective that Punjab-based services cannot: immigration, British and Canadian politics, community news, local gurdwara events and Punjabi programming made for viewers abroad. A Punjabi IPTV subscription brings this diaspora content together with the wider Punjabi lineup.
United Kingdom
UK Punjabi channel with a strong Ambedkarite and Ravidassia community focus — programming and debate you won't find on the mainstream Punjab channels.
The television arm of Panjab Radio, the long-running British Punjabi station, launched on satellite in March 2025. Music, community programming and cultural coverage made for Britain rather than imported into it.
A UK channel broadcasting in both Punjabi and English, built around discussion and current affairs — Punjab politics read from Britain, in long-form panel programming rather than bulletins.
North America
Run from Surrey, BC with studios in Toronto, Calgary, Jalandhar and Fresno. Its political discussion programming is widely followed across the Canadian and UK diaspora.
Canada's established Punjabi news and entertainment channel, produced in Mississauga with a Chandigarh bureau. Immigration coverage, community news and talk built for Ontario and BC households.
The established American Punjabi channel, aimed squarely at US and Canadian households — news, talk and coverage of religious and community events in North America.
Diaspora channel named for the five rivers, mixing Punjabi music and cultural programming with talk shows made for viewers abroad rather than in Punjab.
A CRTC-approved Canadian channel running out of Vancouver and Brampton since 2009, built around news, talk and religious programming for Canadian Punjabi households, including a daily live feed from a Surrey gurdwara.

Regional Feeds and Why Channel Names Repeat
PTC Punjabi runs separate feeds for the UK, Canada and Australia alongside its India channel, and the schedules differ — local community coverage and event timing are built for each region. If a listing looks duplicated, that's usually a regional feed rather than a repeat of the same channel.

HD & International IPTV Channels Without Cable
For many Punjabi families living abroad, television is one of the simplest ways to stay connected with language, culture, and everyday life back home. Music shows, regional news, and Punjabi films often become part of family routines that keep traditions alive even when living far from Punjab.
RisePrimeTV bridges that gap by making Punjabi television accessible across different regions through IPTV streaming. Instead of depending on local cable limitations, viewers can access Punjabi programming from a single platform designed for international audiences who want reliable access to the channels they enjoy.
Punjabi Channels That Keep Culture Alive for Families Abroad
Living outside Punjab often brings a unique challenge for families who want younger generations to stay connected with their cultural roots. Language, traditions, and festivals can gradually fade when children grow up surrounded by a completely different cultural environment.
Thousands of families rely on platforms like RisePrime TV to keep these cultural experiences accessible at home, allowing children to hear the Punjabi language regularly and understand the customs that shape their heritage. In this way, Punjabi channels become more than entertainment; they help ensure that culture continues to live on across generations of the global Punjabi community.
